Wharton Beach: Inside authorities’ recovery effort for missing surfer after shark attack near Esperance

The West Australian

Photos taken at the scene of Wharton Beach in Condingup show the desperate efforts WA Police, Marine Rescue WA and SES personnel are taking to find the body of a missing surfer.

The search 60km east of Esperance began on Monday after police received reports of a shark attack at the beach located in the Duke of Orleans Bay.

It’s believed the surfer — a Victorian man in his 30s — was the victim of the shark attack and it is his body authorities are looking for.
