The Cleveland Cavaliers have reinforced their NBA title credentials as they became the first team to post 50 wins this season.

De'Andre Hunter scored 32 points and made a go-ahead 3-pointer with 30 seconds left in overtime as the Cavaliers rallied for a 133-129 home win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday.

The hard-fought victory extended the Cavs' winning streak to 10 games - their third double digit win streak this season - and it came without All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell, who got some planned rest.

The Cavaliers (50-10) were down 18 in the third quarter before fighting back to win for the 14th time in 15 games, with Ty Jerome adding 25 points and Evan Mobley 20.

The Cavs were coming off an emotional away win on Friday against defending champions and eastern conference rivals Boston during which they erased a 22-point deficit to tie their regular season meetings at 2-2.

With a demanding schedule in March - 16 games in 29 days - coach Kenny Atkinson said the Cavs will be strategic about making sure players get rest as the playoffs approach.

The Nuggets, the No.2 team in the West, were led by Nikola Jokic with 20 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists.

In San Antonio, Western Conference leaders Oklahoma City stayed one win behind the Cavaliers for the NBA's best record as they beat the host Spurs 146-132.

Jalen Williams had a career-high 41 points and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 31 for the Thunder (49-11).

The Los Angeles Lakers are looking increasingly formidable as star mid-season signing Luka Doncic continues to find his feet alongside LeBron James.

Doncic had 29 points and nine assists while James added 17 points as the Lakers (38-21) beat the Los Angeles Clippers for the second time in three days, 108-102.

James is now a point shy of becoming the first player in NBA history to score 50,000 combined points in the regular season and the playoffs.

Australia's Josh Giddey continued to rack up stats for a struggling Chicago Bulls team who were were beaten 127-112 by the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis.

Giddey scored 18 points to go with seven assists and nine rebounds as the Bulls slipped to a 24-37 season record. They are 10th in the East while the Pacers (34-25) are fifth.
