Woman reportedly dies in e-scooter crash in Lithgow, NSW

A woman has died in an electric scooter crash.

Jessica Newsome, a witness to the crash, says the woman was knocked off her e scooter at Lithgow, about 140km west of Sydney.

Ms Newsome says she ran over and attempted to save the woman by performing CPR, but the woman was unable to be revived and she died at the scene.

In a statement, NSW Police confirmed emergency services were called to the intersection of Great Western Highway and Lee Street in Bowenfels at 5.10pm.

“Officers attached to Chifley Police District were told a Ute and an electric scooter had collided,” a police spokesman said.

“The rider – a woman believed to be in her 30s – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

“However, she died at the scene.

“The driver, a 44-year-old man, was taken to Lithgow Hospital for a mandatory testing.

“The woman is yet to be formally identified.

“A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the incident has commenced.”

The scooter appeared to be underneath the ute, another witness to the scene said.
