Woman fighting for life after she was allegedly shot in the back in the Gold Coast identified as Linley Anyos

A woman left fighting for life after she was allegedly shot in the back while helping people move out of a Gold Coast home has been identified as Linley Anyos. Emergency services were called an address on Trees Rd in Tallebudgera on the Gold Coast about 12pm on Wednesday following reports of shots fired. A 33-year-old woman was found with a gunshot to her back, with the Gold Coast Bulletin having identified the woman as Ms Anyos. Police believe Ms Anyos was helping people move out of the property and was in the passenger seat of a vehicle when she was shot. Paramedics treated her at the scene and rushed her to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a life-threatening condition. A Queensland Police spokesperson confirmed Ms Anyos remained in a critical condition on Friday morning. Gold Coast Detective Inspector Mark Mooney earlier told reporters the homicide squad had been brought in despite Ms Anyos still fighting for life in hospital. “It’s going to be a complex investigation, we have engaged the homicide squad at this point in time, because the victim’s injuries are critical,” Inspector Mooney said. “We don’t know at this point in time whether she’ll survive.” A crime scene remained in place at the Trees Rd property on Thursday. “Police have not recovered any weapons, and no one is in custody at this time,” a Queensland Police spokeswoman said. “Investigations are continuing.” Detective Inspector Mooney said a number of people attended the address to collect items that were advertised on Facebook Marketplace by a person moving out of the property. Police believe the car had been parked in the same location for a couple of hours before the incident unfolded. “At this point in time we don’t know who the shooter is,” he said. “There were multiple people at the address collecting property. “There was an ad placed on marketplace for people to come and collect property for free. “We understand (people) were moving out today hence the number of people that were coming and going from the address. “We’d like to speak to anyone that was present to give us any information that we don’t yet have.” Police are hoping to speak to a man - understood to be known to Ms Anyos - who who was at the property at the time of the shooting but left before emergency services arrived, according to the Gold Coast Bulletin. Anyone with information that could assist investigations, including any dashcam vision in the area at the time, is urged to contact police.
