Time lord takes on TV in Dunsborough
One of the world's most renowned doctors will travel through time, television and genres in an upcoming production from Bare Naked Theatre.
Who's on TV will follow the trials and tribulations of the famous time lord Dr Who as he travels through different scenes from famous TV shows.
Neighbours, Downton Abbey and Game of Thrones are among the shows to receive a visit from the doctor and his Tardis in a production Bare Naked Theatre's Terry Thompson said threw up plenty of challenges.
Thompson said fans would be able to spot different shows and genres as the play progressed and fellow actor Emily Brown - who plays the role of Downton Abbey's Lady Mary Crawley - said there would be a surprise at every turn.
The show will be touring the South West and Great Southern, with the team looking forward to playing familiar venues in Bridgetown, Narrogin, Lake Grace, Manjimup and Augusta, as well as Busselton and Dunsborough. It will also be entered into Fringe World in Perth in February next year.
The idea came from the theatre's Harry Potter and the Total Ripoff production, which featured a cameo from a Dr Who character that drew an overwhelmingly positive response from the audience.
Taking the idea a step further, the company weaved in stories from other popular TV shows, eventually developing the idea of Who's on TV.
Who's on TV will show for the first time in Busselton on Friday, July 24, and Saturday, July 25 ,at the Weld Theatre, and will show at the Old Dunsborough Hall on August 28 and 29.
