A rugby round robin will take place at the Nippers Oval in Margaret River this weekend as South West rugby teams tackle the WA Police on the field.

The Dunsborough Dung Beetles, the Margaret River Gropers and the Bunbury Bulls will face up against each other as well as WA Police for the first time this weekend as part of pre-season training and playing.

The WA Police team will travel from Perth for the game and Dung Beetles coach Shane O'Reilly said he expected some tough competition.

"I've played the police before in NSW and they were quite strong," he said.

"I know the WA team has quite a lot of Queensland and NSW players and their rugby is strong.

"Margaret River were last year's premiers so I think they'd also be ones to match.

"But in saying that, I'm very confident in my team after last week's performance."

The event will kick off at 2pm tomorrow with 40-minute games.
