The third annual Jazz by the Bay festival is set to be bigger and better than ever.

The gourmet music festival will feature 25 performances from local and world-renowned jazz musicians at 12 venues around the Cape Naturaliste region.

Event organiser Cindy Wiese said this year included many free events suitable for the whole family.

"Guests can expect more venues and performances from his year's festival, including international performers," she said

"Marilyn Keller, a mesmerising songstress and 27-year veteran of music and stage from Portland, Oregon, and Timo Vollbrecht and Keisuke Matsuno, a magical blend of melancholy and vibrancy on saxophone and guitar from New York City."

Catherine Summers will return to the South West for the festival after delighting guests at the Busselton Jetty 150-year anniversary event, Black Tie on The Timber earlier this year.

Summers, who has become well known in the Perth jazz scene, will perform iconic songs by some of the greats.

Highlights will include a return of the popular Jazz on the Green community concert in the Dunsborough Lions Park with a mix of WA performers and a free children's concert with Libby Hammer.

Jazz by the Bay will run from May 29-30.
