Masterclass set to help student filmmakers

Myles Pollard is encouraging South West students with a passion for film to participate in a filmmaking masterclass to be held in Busselton next week.

The class will be held on May 9 at the Bayview Resort Geographe to support media teachers and help students improve their entries in the Cinesnaps Short Film Competition before the submission date of July 24.

The workshops will feature guests Antony Webb and Roslyn Walker, who will speak on the basics of production management and crafting stories.

Actor, producer and CinefestOZ schools patron Pollard said the classes were a great opportunity for film students and media teachers to learn from Australian film professionals and "hone their skills".

"CinefestOZ is encouraging 13-18-year-olds to enter the short film competition and take advantage of this additional support coming to our region," he said.
