Mandurah house fire: Family ‘left with nothing’ as arson squad investigate Dudley Park house fire

A Mandurah family has been “left with nothing” after a fire tore through their Dudley Park home. Residents inside the Dias Pass home managed to escape uninjured after the property caught fire about 6.40am on Friday. A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said the blaze started in the home’s garage before it moved through the single-storey brick and tile home. Multiple triple-0 calls were made to emergency services before they rushed to the scene. The fire was under control by 8.30am. One of the owner’s cats, Willow, was located under the kitchen table but could not be saved. Homeowner Taliyah Humphrey has since launched a GoFundMe to raise help her family “get back on our feet” and cremate their cat. “Our house sadly burnt down in Dudley Park, everything we have ever owned was unsalvageable,” she said in a post. “Unfortunately, during the fire, one of our beloved cats, Willow, was found hiding deceased under our kitchen table. “Our clothes, tech devices, photos, passports and much more are all gone. “We have been left with nothing. “If anyone could please make any donations to us to help us get back on our feet and cremate our baby girl Willow, (it would be greatly) appreciated.” The GoFundMe — which has a target figure of $2000 — had raised more than $1400 on Friday afternoon. The cause of the blaze is unknown, with the arson squad set to conduct a scene examination on Friday. A DFES fire investigation officer is also responding. Police are at the scene, with Dias Pass and Darwin Terrace closed to the public.
