Magpies boost stocks ahead of season
Busselton Football Club has welcomed its newest football recruit, Chris Kane, ahead of the 2015 football season.
Kane most recently played in Adelaide for the Woodville-West-Torrens Football Club and the Glenelg Football Club before heading west as part of a trip around Australia with his partner.
"My wife and I are travelling Australia at the moment," Kane said this week.
"We wanted to check out the South West and spend about six months to a year here."
"My brother recommended going to Busselton because it had a good footy club and good people.
"So we rocked up a few weeks ago and we're loving it."
Kane, who is originally from Melbourne and comes from a family of football lovers, played 99 games in South Australia before heading to Busselton.
The midfielder said he hoped to bring his experience to the club and added he had been happy with preseason training so far.
"It's a really well-run football club and really professional," he said. "That's the sort of club I want to be involved in."
The Magpies will once again be led by coach Greg Hodson, the coach who took the league team to the finals in the 2014 season.
Chayce Creedy will also return to the club as reserves coach, while Stephen Lester will guide the club's colts side.
Pies president Rob Witten said the addition of Kane along with the team's two new assistant coaches would make for a strong team this year.
