Vasse Primary School will take part in this year's Busselton Chevron City to Surf for Activ with more than 60 students and families taking part in the fun run.

The event, which will be held in Busselton next month, marks the first time the school has been involved.

Vasse Primary School health and wellbeing co-ordinator Peta McAuliffe said the school was keen to get involved.

"We're really big on keeping fit and encouraging students to exercise and eat healthy," she said.

"I've competed in a few Ironman's so doing the City to Surf for Activ really appealed to me.

"We've had a lot of interest from students and parents in participating and have already started training at school and encouraging training at home."

All money raised and donated to Activ during the Chevron City to Surf for Activ series helps to provide essential support to more than 2000 people living with disability in Western Australia.

Busselton resident Maree Myers has been involved with Activ for the past 20 years as an ambassador.

She said her dream was to go skydiving and Activ was helping to achieve that.

"Active has helped me prepare and train for my skydiving, they have encouraged me and believed in me," she said.

"I have had a lot of health problems over the past 12 months and Activ have helped me do my exercises and get better."

Ms McAuliffe said it was great to be supporting such an important cause.

"Activ is an important organisation and do a lot of good work in the community," she said.
