Busselton resident Karen Jury walked the final steps of the 135km Cape-to-Cape last Sunday to raise money for people affected by the Nepal earthquake.

Ms Jury tackled the Cape-to-Cape over four weekends, walking an average of 17km a day, and raised around $3000 for the village of Kharanitar in Nepal.

The walk was challenging at times, she said, but was a wonderful experience.

"The Cape-to-Cape is a wonderful track and we are very lucky to have it," she said.

"It was great seeing the variety of landscape we have and walking through forest, beaches and cliff tops."

Ms Jury was in Nepal earlier this year during the April 25 earthquake and said the devastation to Kathmandu and surrounding villages was quite extensive. She said the money would be distributed for food, clothing and fuel.

"I raised $3000 through the donation page, from Busselton Geographe Bay Rotary Club and donations on the first day of the walk," Ms Jury said.

"I will be going over to Nepal in December for a month and giving the money directly to the people most in need to help them get through winter."
