Dunsborough's Myles Pollard is encouraging people to get involved in the upcoming Garage Sale Trail and Signal Park Sellathon.

The actor is an advocate for the event, which encourages people to reuse unwanted items instead of throwing them away.

As part of the Garage Sale Trail, the City will host a "sellathon" at Signal Park, where people can set up a stall for free.

Pollard said he jumped at the chance to be involved.

"I love having the opportunity to encourage sustainability and recycling and this event promotes reusing items rather than just throwing them away," he said.

"It's great to see the City of Busselton get involved and create an event that not only promotes recycling, but also an event that brings people together and creates a sense of community."

The Garage Sale Trail and the Signal Park Sellathon will run on October 24 from 10am to 2pm, to register visit garagetrail.com.au.
