Artist Andrea Gaisa will debut her spirituality-inspired works at Clancy's Fish Pub this month.

Gaisa told the _Times _ the exhibition - which runs for a month from September 14 - would be her first, despite having been involved in art for a long time.

Spiritual insights formed the main inspiration for the colourful acrylic works and Gaisa said she usually learnt a lesson for herself while painting.

"I've always been into my art and I'm fascinated by human nature," she said.

The paintings will be for sale, but Gaisa said she had started making prints and cards of the pieces as well.

The artist and childcare worker by trade has also been spending time working on a children's book she hopes to publish after the exhibition at Clancy's.

She said the book was almost half complete and followed a young boy through different situations while missing different people close to him.

"It's a spiritual approach on how to deal with separation," she said.

It is a subject she knows something about, having been in Australia for about nine years, with family back in Germany.

Gaisa said the moral of the story was to tap into the connection in your heart when you missed people.

Gaisa's Inspired Art exhibition will go on show at Clancy's Fish Pub, Dunsborough, from September 14 to October 14.
