Toddler dies after being pulled from dam in NSW’s Central West

A toddler has died after being pulled from a dam in NSW’s Central West.

Emergency services were called to a Pipers Flat Road property in Portland near Lithgow about 3pm on Tuesday following reports of concern for welfare.

When officers arrived they found a two-year-old boy who had been pulled from a dam on the property.

He was rushed to Bathurst Hospital in a critical condition after being treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene.

However, the child later died in hospital.

Inquiries have commenced into the incident.
