Yallingup Galleries to host collaborative art project this weekend to raise funds for Busselton Hospice

Yallingup Galleries will raise funds for Busselton Hospice Care through its ART100 community initiative at the weekend. More than 80 people have booked tickets for the two-day event, with the joint initiative organised by Yallingup Galleries, Valle du Venom, Bayside Burger Van, and Art and Mind and Soul. Yallingup Galleries owner and curator Emma Skinner said she also wanted community members to get involved with two collaborative artworks. “What we want to do is bring as many members from the community as possible to be involved in a massive artwork that will be displayed at Busselton Hospice (Care), and a second artwork that they can auction later on,” she said. “They can doodle, draw a scene, colour in or even write words about what Busselton Hospice means to them, a poem or their thoughts. “You can be a novice artist or a professional, and the idea is that when you step back from the piece, everybody’s individual elements become a larger picture.” Attendees will be able to stay from 11am to 3pm either this Saturday or Sunday, with their ticket including a complimentary glass of wine and a burger, with half the ticket sales going directly to the hospice care centre. “They can sit in the garden and have a glass of wine, enjoy a gourmet burger and then take their time working on the collaborative art piece,” Skinner said. “It’s about engaging the community and more than being just an art gallery, we’d want to have impact and support the charities that are meaningful.”
