Young guns set to defend scouting title

Busselton Dunsborough Times

The 1st Cape Naturaliste Scout group will attempt to defend their title at the annual Buntiki Regatta tomorrow.

Hosted by the 2nd Bunbury Sea Scouts, the event requires groups to build a raft from pine logs, plastic drums and inner tubes before racing it 2km up river.

It is a great team-building exercise and opportunity for scouts to test their knots and rope tying abilities in a constructive, safe environment.

After the main race the groups take part in canoeing, sailing and other boating activities to earn points towards their final total for the day.

In their first time competing last year, 1st Cape Naturaliste won the perpetual trophy as overall winners.

Parents and spectators are welcome to attend from 9am at the 2nd Bunbury Sea Scouts Hall on Cobblestone Drive in Bunbury.
