Police are calling for witnesses to a Busselton car theft where a woman was threatened with a tomahawk, robbed and carjacked at the weekend.

The 51-year-old woman had just withdrawn cash from an ATM and was getting into her parked car on Prince Street at around 7pm on Friday when a man approached her.

Busselton Detectives said the man produced a tomahawk-style axe and threatened the woman, demanding her cash and car keys.

He then drove away in her 2012 white Toyota Camry sedan, registration number 1DVJ806,and was last seen heading north towards Bunbury.

The man is described 170cms tall, with a stocky build.

He was wearing a light blue hooded jumper with a motif on the front similar to a compass design and had a shirt covering his face.
