A Bunbury woman has been charged by police for stealing after she snatched a bag at Busselton Woolworths last Thursday afternoon.

Busselton Senior Sergeant Steve Principe said the offender was seen by staff to have stolen the bag which had been left in a shopping trolley.

“Staff chased the woman to her car and retrieved the bag before she drove off,” he said.

“Bunbury police tracked down the woman who was charged for a stealing offence.”

It was understood the alleged offender pulled a knife out in the vehicle, Sen. Sgt Principe said, however it was likely the woman would only be charged for possession of a weapon.

The matter will be considered in Busselton Magistrate’s Court later this month.
