Winter warmer at Yallingup (and Capes Gig Guide)

WA musician Lee Williams hopes to help ease the winter chills when he performs at Yallingup Caves Hotel this weekend.

The Perth-based piano player and singer will tailor his playlist for the long weekend set, drawing on his extensive repertoire.

“In relation to this weekend’s performance, I’ll be playing a range of well known popular music and jazz that you can warm to on a winter’s night,” Williams said.

“Caves Hotel in Yallingup should be the perfect backdrop for some music by Ray Charles, The Whitlams, Crowded House and many other artists.”

Williams said he had experience performing at a range of venues and for a range of audiences. His interest in music grew in his high school years where he performed solo and in a school band in Geraldton.

“My repertoire has grown from music I have enjoyed listening to over my last 15 years of piano,” Williams told the Times this week.

“I’m very open to new music but ensure I believe in the music I perform.

“You’ve gotta reach out to people from behind a piano and it’s impossible if you’re acting.”
