Walk Week celebrates 10 years

Busselton Dunsborough Times

More than 75 students from Our Lady of the Cape Primary School will walk to school on Wednesday in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Walk Week.

An initiative of the Heart Foundation and the State Government, Walk Week’s aim is to encourage participants to walk for transport, health, recreation and the environment.

Our Lady of the Cape sports teacher Mandy Sinclair said physical activity helped improve the health of the body and mind and it was important students appreciated there were ways to walk or ride safely to school.

Students from Georgiana Molloy Anglican School and Busselton Primary School will also walk to school next week and the Busselton Senior Citizens Centre has planned a morning stroll on Wednesday from the centre culminating in a brunch and information session on staying healthy for seniors.
