Violent Soho on tour
Brisbane rock band Violent Soho will play in Dunsborough this November as part of a 23-date national tour.
The Queensland musicians have been nominated for four Aria Awards and their 2013 studio album Hungry Ghost has sold 350,000 copies.
Their No Sleep Til Mansfield tour will visit capital cities and a number of regional towns and has been advertised as “punters’ last chance to see them perform in Australia before they go into hibernation to write album number four”.
Violent Soho released their debut album, We Don’t Belong Here, in 2008 and a self-titled second album in 2010.
Four former Mansfield schoolmates — Luke Boerdam and James Tidswell on guitar and vocals, Luke Henery, who plays bass, and drummer Michael Richards — formed Violent Soho in 2004.
Their latest album comes following a stint in America, and since their return the band has performed at Falls Festival, Big Day Out, Groovin’ The Moo, Splendour in the Grass and Triple J’s One Night Stand as well as a sold-out album tour.
Their single Covered in Chrome made the top 15 of Triple J’s Hottest 100 this year and the band has signed an international label deal with United States and Mexico-based SideOneDummy and Dine Alone.
Violent Soho will perform live at the Dunsborough Tavern on Thursday, November 20.
