An 18-year-old Busselton man was allegedly found with methamphetamine, a prohibited weapon and stolen property following a vehicle stop in Dunsborough on Sunday night.

Dunsborough police officer in charge Sergeant Peter Behan told the Times the discovery was a good outcome for police.

"In regards to drugs in our community, a lot of information we receive comes from community members," he said.

"And we would encourage community members to continue to call us with that information which will always, and I mean always, be handled in a confidential manner."

Sgt Bahen said the amount of drugs allegedly found on the man was just less than a trafficable amount.

The man is due to appear in Busselton Magistrate's Court on August 31.
