Top tips to get through TEE
Year 12 students completing their Tertiary Entrance Examinations this year should be well and truly into their study routines, according to South West Academic Services proprietor and tutor Jeremy Baker.
With just three weeks to go before exams begin, most local students will receive their Mock exam results when school goes back next week.
Mr Baker said students should be going back through their notes and handouts, looking at feedback from teachers and pestering teachers, taking notes and drawing flowcharts.
“They should be studying the same thing with a range of different strategies,” he said.
Mr Baker said students should not study for more than 20-25 minutes at a time and should take five-minute breaks.
“It’s important to do some exercise and get plenty of sleep,” he said.
“A lot of students stock up on energy drinks such as red bull, but that gives physical energy, not mental energy, and then they can have trouble sleeping.”
Mr Baker said it was a stressful time but students should remind themselves everything in the exams was what they had learnt all year.
“There are no nasty surprises or tricks,” he said.
