Tim's the tops

Busselton Dunsborough Times

Senior scout Timothy Everett was awarded his Australian Scout Medallion in a weekend ceremony at the 1st Cape Naturaliste Scout Hall.

The Australian Scout Medallion is the highest award a scout can achieve and represents four years of participation, dedication and hard work.

Fourteen-year-old Timothy had to plan and complete an expedition hike of more than 30km and two nights, complete community service and organise camps for other members and take on a leadership role to qualify for the medallion.

He is a patrol leader with the Cape Naturaliste Scout Group, and was an ambassador for the Busselton Shire to Sugito, Japan, last year.

The medallion was presented by WA Branch Commissioner-Scouts Vern Casey and Timothy would be presented his certificate by the WA Chief Commissioner Larry Lucas at a ceremony at Perth Town Hall in February.
