Some of the State’s best showjumping horse-and-rider combinations will travel to the Capes region over the Easter long weekend for the sixth annual Yalambi Jumping Classic.

The three-day event will run from Good Friday to Easter Sunday and offers fun for horse enthusiasts with food and wine and children’s activities to complement the on-course thrills and spills.

Yalambi Farm Stud director Rory Hovell said the event had grown to be the largest showjumping event in the State.

“This event caters for everyone and provides a great setting to watch some of WA’s best riders,” he said.

“We want the event to keep growing and making it one of the premier events for visitors and locals to attend each year.”

The event will showcase more than 150 riders and 200 horses from all over WA.

Food and wine will be available to buy and there will be pony rides and face painting for children.

Mr Hovell said it was the event to be at over the Easter break.

“There’s something amazing about watching a 500kg-plus horse, together with a talented rider, jump 1.40m in the air,” he said.

The free event will run from from 8.30am-4.30pm each day at Yalambi Farm Stud.

Tickets are available for a VIP lunch on Easter Sunday.
