The family that runs together ...
A Dunsborough family will be among those getting involved in this year’s Chevron City to Surf in Busselton.
The Activ fundraiser on August 17 will see participants tackle a 12km run or walk, or a 4km run, walk or wheelchair course.
Lisa Budgen will take part in the event and will be cheered on by her husband and children, who will be volunteering.
Mrs Budgen said the children were required to complete community service for their schools and thought there was no better way than to do it at a large community event with family and friends.
“I think it’s really important for the kids to be getting the community involved while they’re growing up, and it’s great for them to practice working as a team, ” she said.
Knowing her family will be at the finish line is what Lisa said would push both her through their big run.
She said she was looking forward to the day and a much needed cup of water when she crossed the finish line.
City to Surf volunteer coordinator Carmen Keed said the support of volunteers was invaluable to the event.
