A teenage cyclist was taken to hospital after colliding with a ute in the Busselton light industrial area yesterday.

Police Media’s Samuel Dinnison said an initial assessment suggested the 15-year-old girl crossed the road and collided with the front left panel of a ute on the corner of Fredrick and West Streets at 4.45pm.

The girl was taken to Busselton Hospital by St John Ambulance with minor concussion, bruises and grazes.

Mr Dinnison said police had spoken with the driver who, remained at the scene, as well as other witnesses.

A police breath test on the driver did not find traces of alcohol and the driver was not charged.

Mr Dinnison said it was not known whether the girl was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
