Rotary Park was filled with furry friends on Wednesday when Playgroup WA held its annual Teddy Bears' Picnic.

Playgroup WA South West development officer Karen Collins said it was a great event for people to get outside and connect with other families in the area.

"We decided to organise this event because it's so simple," she said. "Everyone has a teddy bear and can come to the park and bring a picnic lunch.

"The event was cancelled because of the rain last week, so it's great to have a nice and sunny day."

About 75 families attended the picnic, which was part of the Festival of Busselton.

Ms Collins said the picnic was a special part of the festival because it catered to a younger audience.

"I saw the program for the festival and noticed there was not much for the under-five age group, so this was great for the kids," she said.

The City of Busselton Library had a reading and storytelling area set up while a miniature petting zoo also had the children and their parents entertained with ponies, rabbits, chickens, sheep and goats.

Parents could also gain information about playgroups in the South West at the picnic.
