Dunsborough athlete Isabella Bidesi has come one step closer to achieving her dream of a State title after taking home medals in all of her events at the State Country Championships on the Australia Day long weekend.

Sixteen clubs from as far as Broome and Kalgoorlie-Boulder participated in the event, and 10-year-old Isabella competed for the Bunbury Little Athletics Club.

Isabella placed first in the 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m track events, second in the 70m, and third in javelin.

While she won herself a spot competing at the State Championships at Perth Athletic Stadium in March, Isabella missed out on breaking the country State record for the 400m by just one second.

“It was a great experience to make new friends and beat most of my club times,” Isabella said.

“States is going to be such a great experience for me and hopefully I can beat that record.”
