Surfing: Mackillop kids in title race

Two teams from Mackillop Catholic College will travel to Perth this Friday to compete for the chance to represent WA at the Australian Junior Surfing Titles.

Last Friday, the junior girls’ team of Marie Bradley and Eliza Greene and senior girls’ team of Ella Bradley and Holly Thomas took out their respective divisions at the South West regional qualifier held at Cowaramup’s North Point.

Margaret River Senior High School dominated the rest of the competition, taking out all four bodyboard divisions and the boys’ surfing divisions.

The girls would compete in the State Scholastic Surfing Titles to be held at Trigg Point today against winning teams from other metropolitan and regional zones.

A total of 14 spots in the WA Junior Surfing Team were up for grabs.
