Surfing: Duke of Yallingup impresses

Yallingup's Duke Nagtzaam made it to the quarter finals of the 2011 Occy’s Grom Competition in Queensland last week.

Nagtzaam impressed in his first heat in the 12-and-under division, posting a combined two-wave heat total of 15.17 points.

Performing several big backhand snaps and surfing with maturity, Nagtzaam looked in fine form on the clean waves of Duranbah Beach.

He finished first in his heat ahead of New South Wales surfers Keanu Miller, Leo Hamilton and Owen Fredericks and was eliminated in the quarter finals.
