Surf buddies first meet
Children from Dunsborough and Yallingup will be able to join their own surf life saving club for the first time this weekend.
The newly-formed Smiths Beach Surf Life Saving Club will hold their inaugural registration day on Sunday.
Club president Leanne Verhoeff said the day would kick off with a Smiths Beach clean-up from 9.30am to coincide with WA Beach Clean Up Day.
Registration and lunch will be held at Swings and Roundabouts from 11.30am with pizzas, hamburgers, wine and soft drinks available for purchase.
“This is a good time to meet other members, kids to have a play and ask questions about the club and membership.
"We currently have just under 200 members registered for the first day of the season on Sunday, November 6 from 9am to 11am,” Mrs Verhoeff said.
RSVPs are required for the event, with those interested asked to either email their attendance or call Mrs Verhoeff on 0447 850 072.
