Students' California dreaming
Music students from Busselton Senior High School’s jazz and concert bands finished the year beaming after arriving back home from a memorable US tour.
The 10-day tour, coined by the group as California Dreaming, featured three major performances at Disneyland and two exchange performances at American schools.
Teacher in charge of music Nicky Hair said among the highlights were home stays and the Disneyland recording session workshop.
The workshop had a fully equipped soundstage, where the bands played backing pieces to animated films such as Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin.
Mrs Hair said the young musicians were “great ambassadors” for themselves, their families and their State.
The school is hopeful the American students will plan a reciprocal visit to Busselton.
