Spring is sprung in the Busselton Wildflower Exhibition
Colourful displays of wildflowers will give a small taste of springtime indoors when the 86th annual Busselton Wildflower Exhibition takes place this month.

There will be something for both amateurs and experts, with more than 300 varieties of wildflowers to be exhibited.
Committee chairman Barry Oates said this year’s season had been a little more advanced because of the patches of warm weather, with some good displays of the popular spider orchids expected to be exhibited.
“I think theexhibition is a great event and I’ve enjoyed organising it for the last few years,” he said.
“What is great is the number of elderly people who come along and are able to see it in the comfort of the church building.”
Mr Oates said a special presentation on Thursday evening by the Busselton Camera Club would see a special DVD featuring 72 local orchids released.
Visitors would also be able to browse the stalls selling local crafts and produce, with gardening advice on how to grow wildflowers also available from the Geographe Landcare Nursery.
The exhibition would take place at the Busselton Uniting Church on Kent Street on Thursday, September 22 from 9am to 8.30pm and Friday, September 23 from 9am to 5pm.
