Balingup schoolgirl Sophia Armstrong has won the 2014 CinefestOZ Cinesnaps Short Film Competition.

Sophia, a student at Manea College in Bunbury, won with her short film Kinetic Happiness.

Tied in second place were Three Lives, One Destination by Cameron Green, Chad Cowan and Mitchell Rogers from Cape Naturaliste College and Moola Escaparse by Alexis Gill, Jessabby Drown and Jessica Childs from Cape Naturaliste College.

The Cine-Snaps program showcases Australian and international films, filmmakers and artists to a younger audience from a range of South West to enhance their appreciation and understanding of the film industry.
