Sister city students see South West

Busselton Dunsborough Times

Japanese exchange students from Busselton’s sister city, Sugito have been enjoying the sights and sounds of the South West last week.

Origami and karate were demonstrated by eight of the visiting students at a City of Busselton civic reception last Friday.

The students have attended a day of school and have visted local attractions including Ngilgi cave, the Cape Naturaliste Reptile Park and took part in a boat ride on Geographe Bay with the Busselton Marine Rescue Group.

The students have toured the Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse and enjoyed a 3D maze, a round of golf and chocolate and ice cream tasting with their host families and members of the Busselton and Sugito Sister Cities Association.

Our neighbours to the north were presented with a sheoak calendar made by Busselton wood turner Tom Mazey and a book of Christian Fletcher’s scenic photographs at the presentation.

Eight lucky Busselton students will return the favour and go on exchange to visit Sugito in October.
