Shared exhibition explores shared issues
Provocative wooden sculptures and paintings depicting universal issues of identity, homecoming and family narratives are about to be unveiled in time for Easter at The Studio Gallery.
The exhibition will bring together two well-known South West artists, with Linda Skrolys renowned for using oil and wax on canvas and board, and Russell Sheridan carving a reputation for creating innovative, mixed media figures.
While they focused on people-orientated subjects from different angles, each artist could be described as having a deep exploratory style.
“Linda and Russell’s work in this coming exhibition focus on their search for values and meanings,” gallery director Sue Smith said.
“Linda’s paintings primarily relate to her personal sense of gratitude and appreciation of family and friends, and Russell’s sculptural works reflect a satirical view of the nature of mankind.”
The Easter Exhibition will be on show from next Wednesday until April 15.
An official opening will be held on Saturday March 30 from 6pm, during which visitors can meet the artists.
