Alison Rowland made the most of her home-ground advantage at the Yalambi Showjumping Classic on Sunday, taking out the top-two positions in the drawcard event, the Grand Prix.

Rowland won the event on her nine-year-old mare Brickley Brook Bella and picked up second on Bickley Brook Bianca.

Sarah Isbister came third on Little Britton, followed by Yalambi stud director Rory Hovell on Yalambi’s Val D’Isere.

The event helped to cement the classic’s place as a premium national showjumping competition and South West social drawcard, with 120 riders competing in 16 events in front of close to 800 people.

Hovell said the crowd was buzzing and the standard of the showjumping competition matched the best Australia has to offer.

“The winner of our event recently placed first in the Sydney World Cup qualifier and she is based here in the South West,” he said.

“It was a fantastic result for the event and made for great spectator viewing.”
