RISING STAR: Damon's Geelong experience
Busselton footballer Damon Greaves has recently returned from the Under-15 National Football Championships in Geelong.
The 15-year-old has also been awarded the Busselton Freight Service's Rising Sports Star award for September.
The MacKillop Catholic College student has been playing football since he was seven, after starting in Auskick.
He said he loved the sport because it was social and allowed him to have fun with his mates.
"It was a really great experience going to Geelong and meeting a lot of great players," he said.
"It was the first time I had represented WA, so it was a great feeling.
"I won the best and fairest medal for the competition, which was awesome."
Damon is also the captain of the Saints Junior Football Club in Busselton and said he hoped one day to take his football to a professional level.
Damon was recently awarded the 2015 Best and Fairest Ray Dowell Memorial Medal for the Saints. "I would love to play football profession- ally and make it a career," he said.
"I want to work hard and try and get to the highest level I can."
