Residents: we don't want change

Residents at a community forum on the potential change of status of the Shire of Busselton to a city indicated they supported the status quo.

The Busselton and Districts Residents Association hosted a debate on the issue and the possible name change that could be associated with a status upgrade last night.

About 70 people attended the forum at the St Mary’s Family Centre last night to hear six speakers from the Busselton and Dunsborough community address the two issues.

In a poll at the end of the evening the majority of people indicated they would prefer to stay as a shire and have Busselton in the name.
