Properties still powerless after storm

Busselton Dunsborough Times

More than 1000 properties in Yallingup and 600 properties in Margaret River remain without power today following last night’s storm.

Western Power restored electricity to an additional 7000 customers this morning but 20,000 properties are still affected, with Yallingup the second most affected area in the State.

A Western Power spokesperson said their priory was to reconnect customers who had been without power since Sunday, but this would take time as crews tackled more localised faults.

Only 30 wires appeared to have been brought down in last night’s storm compared with nearly 800 power lines, streetlight wires and individual customer service lines on Sunday.
