Police investigate Boxing Day assault

A 17-year-old boy was left with a fractured eye socket after being allegedly punched outside of a home on Naturaliste Terrace at 8.30pm on Boxing Day.

The assault was allegedly unprovoked, but police are currently investigating the circumstances of the attack, according to Senior Sergeant Kelly Player.

“The one punch assault was unprovoked as far as we know, but we’re currently going through around 50 witnesses to confirm what happened and why,” she said.

Snr Sergeant Player said other Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve festivities were relatively calm and Dunsborough Police responded to mostly noise complaints.
