Paths to youth support through Regional Kids

Busselton Dunsborough Times

A range of new activities for families with children suffering from serious and long-term diseases are being organised by Regional Kids’ family support program.

A Teen Fun Day is being organised next month to give youths a chance to relax and receive support in a relaxing atmosphere.

Support service co-ordinator Naomi Witham said the day would give teenagers the chance to catch-up and have fun.

“We are trying to capture that group, as there are kids that are struggling to go through adolesence while suffering from serious illnesses,” she said.

Monthly coffee-and-chat meetings are also underway, taking place every last Thursday of the month at Urban Coffee House from 10.30am, while clients are also encouraged to visit the Regional Kids’ Facebook page for online support.

The organisation is also seeking volunteers to provide practical help for Regional Kids’ families, with an induction day on October 23.

The Teen Fun Day will take place at Yallingup Maze on Sunday, October 28.
