New Busselton playgroup caters for kids with autism
A playgroup is starting in Busselton for children with autism spectrum disorder.
PlayConnect welcomes tots up to age of six years old.
It also caters for children with developmental delays in communication and social skills, and behavioural and sensory issues.
The sessions are organised by Playgroup WA and chief executive David Zarb said parents, carers and siblings were encouraged to attend.
“Play remains the focus while allowing families the opportunity to connect with others, share experiences and information to support one another, ” he said.
PlayConnect is available to families awaiting a diagnosis.
No referral is required and children do not need a formal autism spectrum disorder diagnosis to join.
Parents and caregivers are invited to attend a morning tea to celebrate the launch of PlayConnect next Thursday.
The session starts at 9.30am at the Busselton Baptist Church Community Centre on the corner of Queen Elizabeth Avenue and Recreation Lane in Busselton.
