Marine fundraiser closing in on target

Busselton Dunsborough Times

Busselton Marine Rescue Group volunteers are closing in on their $20,000 target for their annual fundraising raffle.

Group skipper Ian Stevenson and secretary David Radley have spent three days a week stationed on Prince Street selling tickets since December.

First prize is a 3.7m Stacer hull dingy, complete with life jackets, offshore flares, anchor, crab nets and fishing rods, worth a total of $6650.

Mr Stevenson said money raised would go back into the operation of the group so it was a worthy cause.

The second prize in the raffle is $1000 cash, third prize is $500 of Coles vouchers and fourth is a $250 VISA card.

“We’ve sold over $10,000 worth so far, so we’re halfway and will try to sell out if we can, ” Mr Stevenson said.
