Dunsborough resident Aaron Harvey will cut off his long dreadlocks for the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave after growing them for nearly nine years.

The 34-year-old said he was looking forward to the chop.

“It’ll be the first time I’ve cut my hair in a while and I wanted to do it for a cause, ” he said.

The fly-in, fly-out Port Hedland resources industry worker said he had been motivated by a team at his work, iron ore miner and explorer Atlas Iron.

Mr Harvey will cut off his beyond shoulder-length dreadlocks at the Cape Wine Bar on Naturaliste Terrace in Dunsborough on Saturday, March 15 at 8.30pm.

Mr Harvey has raised about $2500 so far for the cause. To sponsor him, go to www.worlds greatestshave.com, click “sponsor” and search for Aaron Harvey.
