Lions pride at red appeal

Busselton Dunsborough Times

The Lions Club of Dunsborough has raised more than $3400 for the Salvation Army through the Red Shield Appeal fundraising drive.

Lions Club member Roy Bussell said the club held stalls and collected money last month, with the final amount raised topping last year’s total.

Mr Bussell presented Busselton Salvation Army captain Tim Watson with the cheque last week, who was delighted with the result.

“This is the major appeal for us, so it supports the work of the Salvation Army right across Australia, helping people with alcohol and drug rehabilitation, emergency accommodation and many other things,” Mr Watson said.

“This is a great amount the Lions have raised.”

Mr Bussell said the club loved helping the Salvation Army because theywere a great cause.

The Lions Club of Dunsborough is looking for more members.
