Join St Mary's for a free Xmax lunch
They say there’s no such thing as a free lunch but that isn’t true this Christmas.
St Mary’s Family Centre is spreading the cheer by holding a free lunch on Christmas Day.
Parish administrator John Morris said not everyone could afford to pay for a good Christmas lunch and some people were lonely.
“For whatever reason, Christmas Day can be a less-than-happy one and last year we launched our free luncheon and it was a great success with over 150 meals being served with lots of fun, chatter and enjoyment,” Mr Morris said.
“We decided to extend an invitation to anyone who would like to join us for a meal and some companionship.”
Mr Morris said all religious affiliations were welcome and there would be no sermons at the alcohol free gathering.
All of the costs for the lunch have been met by St Mary’s parishioners, St Mary’s op shop, the City of Busselton, local businesses and residents.
To book a place, call into St Mary’s Family Centre before 1pm on weekdays or call 9754 3775.
Some transport is available by calling Mr Morris on 0417 172 960 in advance.
