Jetty pics called for

RACHEL CURRYBusselton Dunsborough Times

Dig out those old snaps of the Busselton Jetty and you could help the Geographe Bay Tourism Association celebrate a special milestone.

The tourism body is creating an online scrapbook of photos and memories for the Jetty’s upcoming 150th anniversary.

Marketing officer Nicky Lefebvre said they were looking for a wide range of photos and the snaps did not necessarily have to be historical.

“If someone has got a photo of jetty they’re really proud of or that has special memories to them it could have been taken last week, but also the more old photos we have the better it will be” Ms Lefebvre said.

“And if there’s a little story that goes with your photo or if people have had proposals down there or important things that have happened in their life and the jetty is the background to that, they’re welcome to share.”

Ms Lefebvre said GBTA hoped the scrapbook would alert people living outside the region to the 150th celebrations next year.

To make a submission, email nickylefebrvre@geographebay.com or to view the scrapbook, visit the Recharge at Geographe Bay Facebook page.

The Busselton Dunsborough Times will produce a souvenir Busselton Jetty 150th anniversary publication to commemorate the historic occasion.
